A Ministry of Culture Publication — Transdisciplinarity and Batik: Ko-Chuan Huang
In Dec. 3, 2025, The Ministry of Culture has released the “My Home My Art Museum : Biographies of Taiwan Artist” featuring the publication of “Transdisciplinarity and Batik Art : Ko Chuan Huang”.
Ko Chuan Huang rose to prominence in the 1970s and remained highly active through the late 1980s as a renowned “Batik” artist. Afterward, he gradually withdrew from the public art scene, devoting himself to quiet, introspective creation while exploring new themes and media — including “Dharma Zen Paintings” , “Multimedia Modern Painting” , and “Oil-based Chinese Ink Painting” he developed.
This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of Ko Chuan Huang’s passing. His works have once again gained recognition and returned to the spotlight, reaffirming that when an artist devotes a lifetime to steadfast practice and selfless creation, leaving behind a distinct artistic language and legacy, time will ultimately speak for him — and allow him to be seen once more.
We also congratulate the other fourteen artists who, together, contribute to the rich and dynamic narrative of Taiwan’s art history.
