2025年3月，文化部成立「臺南國家美術館 (籌備處) 」，策劃「福爾摩沙時代-臺灣近現代美術的知識啟蒙」展覽，探討臺灣近現代美術的發展與文化脈絡，展出1950 年前出生具時代代表性藝術家之創作作品。
In March 2025, the Ministry of Culture established the “Tainan National Art Museum (Preparatory Office)” and curated the exhibition.
“The Formosa Era: the Intellectual Enlightenment of Early Modern and Modern Art in Taiwan”, which explores the development and cultural context of modern and contemporary Taiwanese art. The exhibition features representative works by artists born before 1950.

本展覽分三階段接力展出，首段選定逾二百件精彩佳作。
This exhibition comprises three phases. The first phase features over 200 exceptional works.
2年後，臺南市美術館2館，將升格為臺南國家美術館。
In two years, Building 2 of the Tainan Art Museum will be elevated to the status of the Tainan National Art Museum
