The Lotus Pond in Full Bloom at the Botanical Garden Mirrors the Splendor of the Museum’s Lotus Exhibition!
Two treasured pieces by Huang Ko-chuan from NMH’s collection are on display.
While admiring the elegance of lotus flowers depicted by Chinese and Western artists, visitors can gaze through the exhibition hall’s windows at the beautifully blooming lotus pond outside.
The showcased works span from the late Qing Dynasty to contemporary times, featuring masterpieces by renowned artists such as Chang Dai-Chien, Pu Xin-Yu, Sanyu, Huang Ko-chuan, Chao Er-Dai, Liang Dan-Feng, Su Hsien-Fa , and others.
Huang Ko-chuan skillfully employs mixed media, ingeniously blending Chinese and Western painting techniques to create delicate gradient effects and a dreamy ambiance. His Eastern-style paintings are infused with Western artistic elements, presenting a unique and innovative take on lotus flowers.
The exhibition hall showcases a harmonious blend of ancient and modern, East and West; inside and out, the air is filled with the fragrant essence of lotus blossoms!
